'Scriba Stylus' pen designed by Dublin Design Studio

Artists

Modern designers and creatives are constantly shifting their workflow between physical and digital environments, demanding tools that deliver a seamless transition between the two. In designing Scriba, we designed beyond the pen to design a new type of creative tool for this hybrid workflow.

While a stylus delivers a natural creative experience on-screen, Scriba augments this to allow a truly expressive process. With more control over brush strokes, rapid access to shortcuts and haptic feedback, Scriba helps you find your creative flow so you can focus on the task at hand.

In order to showcase the new creative opportunities offered by Scriba, we developed software to demonstrate the unique capabilities and multi-functionality of Scriba. Developing proof of concept software in-house allowed us to rapidly test concepts and determine which offered real user benefits. Software development became another outlet for our multi-disciplinary innovation and also attracted the attention of some of the biggest names in software.

We have been working with a range of developers on Scriba integration in addition to our own experiments and the result is that Scriba supports a diverse range of applications on iOS and Android which are available to download (largely for free) from their respective app stores.
